WHEN SHOULD SPF BE APPLIED?
Before or after makeup?
For optimal sun protection, it is recommended to apply sunscreen before applying makeup.
Follow these steps in order:
• Prepare the skin: Begin by cleansing and moisturising your skin to create the perfect base for
your products.
• Applying sunscreen: Apply enough sunscreen (approximately 2 mg/cm²) evenly across your
entire face. Allow the sunscreen to penetrate properly—this usually requires waiting about 10
minutes before applying makeup. This step ensures an even, effective protective barrier against
UV rays.
• Apply Makeup: Once the sunscreen is fully absorbed, proceed with your foundation and other
makeup products. This not only provides UV protection but also helps your makeup adhere
better and last longer.
• Reapply protection: To maintain effective protection throughout the day, reapply sunscreen as
needed, especially if you are exposed to the sun for extended periods or engage in activities
that may disrupt the protective film, such as water sports, excessive sweating, physical activity,
or rubbing.
